Community Programs

The following are programs for adults that are available in the New Albany area but are not run by New Albany Parks and Recreation.  We wanted to make you aware that they are available in the community.

New Albany Masters Swimming
Available for anyone 18 and older and would like a place to train.  We have members of all ages and all levels on the team.  Members of the team are as young as 75 years old, and as old as 24 years.  Hosted at New Albany High School pool(7600 Fodor Road, New Albany, OH 43054) and managed through New Albany Aquatics Club.  The Masters coach is Chris Birnbrich and he can be reached at, or call or text to 614-584-3103.  The schedule of Masters practices can be found on the NAAC calendar page here.  Please contact Chris for information on cost.

New Albany Walking Club
In existence since 2003, the New Albany Walking Club is the largest walking club of its kind whereby members can walk for competition and/or health.  Members meet every Sunday morning throughout the year.  Walks begin with an overview of the distance to be covered and updated news.  The walks begin from inside the Heit Center and cover any number of routes and distances but walkers never walk alone.  Our members walk at all speeds and depending on the time of year, the distances can vary from 2 or 3 miles to 10 or more.  Some of the members compete in half and full marathons while others are content to walk casually and never participate in races.  All walks end with great camaraderie, free coffee, water and snacks at the Heit Center.  For additional information, send an email to or visit our website.
