FYI
COACHES
The strength of our program will depend on the quality of its volunteers. All coaches must have experience and knowledge of the game and more importantly, must possess the leadership ability and the know-how to work with young children.
- Coaches Training Clinic will be required for all coaches.
- End of Season Evaluations by players’ parents will be conducted on all coaches. (Last year’s evaluations will be considered in determining this year’s coaches.)
- Background Checks are mandatory for all coaches and other league volunteers.
The Vice President of each Division will assign all Managers and Coaches (with the approval of the President and Board of Directors).
Each team will be limited to 1 Manager and 2 Coaches.
Actions of Coaches and Managers must be above reproach. Any manager or coach who is involved in a verbal or physical altercation, or an incident of unsportsmanlike conduct, at the game site or any other Softball activity, is subject to disciplinary action by the Board of Directors. Continued violation of Softball rules of conduct, may result in the termination of the volunteer privilege as determined by the Board of Directors and its President.
VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
Volunteers are very much appreciated and are needed to support the league. If you are interested in coaching or in any other volunteer position, please fill out the official Volunteer Application. Please contact the Division VP for more info on coaching.
New Albany Softball mandates checks of the National Sex Offender Registry for Managers, Coaches, Board Members, other volunteers, or hired workers who come into regular contact with players.
A copy of an individual’s Drivers License will be needed to submit an application. The New Albany Softball League is required to conduct a background check on each of these individuals.
SPONSORS
Our program depends on the generous support of sponsors. League division, field, team and other sponsorship opportunities are available.
