The basics of field hockey
Who is Eligible
The New Albany Field Hockey Club is a non-profit organization that provides girls in grades 6-12 the opportunity to learn and play the game of field hockey. Games will be played against other Clubs and Schools in the surrounding area. No previous experience is required. Teams include:
Middle School Grades 6-8
JV / Varsity Grades 9-12
How to Register
Cost to register is $175 for field hockey. A $50 Non-resident fee will be applied for all players outside of the New Albany-Plain Local school district. Registration will begin June 1st. Teams will be limited to 25 players and will be filled on a first come basis. Non-resident/students may register but preference will be given to NAPL residents/students. Non-residents/students who register will be notified of enrollment following the registration period. Go to the Online Registration page of this site to register. Season Schedule
The season runs from the beginning of August to mid-October. Practices and Home games will be played at Bevelhymer Park. Players are responsible for transportation to and from away games. Middle School players should expect to practice/play approximately 3 times a week and JV/Varsity approximately 4 times a week.
Specific practice and game schedules will be handed out at the Parent/Player meeting to be held on Thursday – July, 15, 2010. The meeting will be held in the meeting room of the New Albany Library located at 200 Market Street from 6:30pm-8:00pm.
